The
event was a magnificient success, and the massive collaboration
yielded some stunning portraits. This work was
made possible
through the help of photographers Robert Heishman, Jeff Eaton, and Matt
Peake, costume designer and coordiantor Dominique Karwoski, Printer and
Designer El Bryan, & Promoter Just!n Eagan. Furthermore, it could
not have been done in any kind of timely manner with the hard work of
Jordan Johnson, Jarod Wilson, Darius, Justin, & Matt Cygnet.
Also,
special thanks to those who drove their cars all over the lawn for the
the night shots, Dustin Cockerham, Michael
Wickerson, Patti Krueger, Mo Wooler, Ben MCullough, Paul Short, Will
Anderson, Jessi Lively, Matt Cygnet, Richard, & Dominique
Karwoski. Most of all, those who came out with that additional
flair, you are the ones who make this event happen.
The total people shot ranges somewhere near
300 Portraits with the total
pictures shot and filtered through nearing one thousand! Kansas
City Star Staff Photographer Fred Blocher came and documented
the event
in action, as well as Fox 4 News, and NBC. Saturday night the
piece was lit by fifteen cars and trucks and there's a few photos of
which you can view on the right.
The view above gives an idea of
what the rays of light are
really made of. Several hundred pipes and poles were hammered and
lain on the Kansas City Art Institute campus to achieve the illusion
that surrounds each portrait.
